Disappointing

We had expected something special but we were disappointed. The starter arrived while we were only halfway though our apéritif, the bread (admittedly, not all of it...) was too hard to eat, the asparagus that accompanied the salmon was nearly as hard as the aforementioned bread. We had to pour our own wine, which was just as well because the dessert arrived just a few minutes after the dishes of our main course were taken away. We would have been better off following Angela Merkel's example - Place Jourdan is renowned for its "friterie". In all fairness, the ambience was pleasant, the tables were not too close together and the staff tried their best... To conclude, in spite of its "regional monthly menus", this is an expensive fast food restaurant for Eurocrats and is not representative of real gastronomic Belgian cuisine.
