Mathijs cooks with great care and passion delicious dishes from the French / Italian cuisine with an occasional nod to the cuisine of other countries. He likes to share his enthusiasm about the fresh products with you by presenting them at the table. Restaurant Sjalotte does not work with a menu. The Chef picks fresh products for you every day and uses them to compose a menu of five or six courses. You can choose how many courses you would like to eat. There are always alternatives in the house so you can always indicate if there are things you do not like or are allergic to. The Chef will prepare a delicious alternative for you. Even if there are other exceptions such as vegetarian, lactose or gluten free, you can indicate that and Mathijs will take it into account. He will effortlessly conjure up a delicious menu for you too. It is always easy if you indicate exceptional wishes with your reservation. Our aim is to have a restaurant where high quality food is served in a relaxed atmosphere. Everyone is welcome is our motto. Parents can bring their children who can enjoy themselves in a play corner located in another room. So the parents have peace but also the other guests are not disturbed. The children of the house often walk through the restaurant to say hello or just out of curiosity. The bottles of wine and water are on your table at Restaurant Sjalotte so you can keep your own glasses filled. This way less staff is needed and the food remains affordable for everyone. If you would like to be pampered and see the Chef at work, you can reserve a seat at our Chef's table in the kitchen (for a maximum of 10 people). Enjoy your visit and be surprised!

Heel leuke ambiance, prettige omvang, niet te groot, niet te klein. Aangename en vriendelijke bediening. Geweldige kok en gastheer. Mathijs geeft je een gevoel van thuiskomen. Gastvrijheid staat voorop, naast formidabel eten, hoogwaardig, mooie hoeveelheden, geflankeerd door zalige wijnen. De Sjalotte is simpelweg genieten. Een heel dikke aanrader en als klap op de vuurpijl ook hoogst aangename kamers, zodat je alleen de trap op hoeft, na een superieur diner.
